Lights, Camera, Action! Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at an award show? Your favorite celebrities are in the spotlight, surrounded by cameras, bedazzled in jewels, and completed with gorgeous makeup and clothes. Every inch of their body is being examined by fans, hosts, and of course, the paparazzi just waiting to feature the next Fashion Fails. Our very own Lavish Lashes Stylist April Burch was behind the scenes to see and create it all at this year’s 2015 BET Awards and Experience!

This was the 3rd year April was invited to be a Celebrity Makeup Artist for the BET Awards Show. Let’s be real, the BET Awards is one of the most highly anticipated red carpet events of the year! With artists such as Rihanna, Sean Combs, and Nicki Minaj taking the stage there is no shame is being jealous over this amazing opportunity.

How did she do it?

Hard work, determination, and talent of course! Every year the BET Awards hires professional celebrity hair and makeup professionals to transform the artists before they enter the show, perform on stage, or for a quick touch-up. With April’s experience in celebrity makeup and as a Lavish Lashes Stylist she awaits her returning invitation every year.

Behind the scenes at every show is all the same:

CHAOS! With time schedules, TV commercials, flights arriving, interviews, and wardrobe changes it is almost impossible to know whose makeup April will be applying. Nonetheless it is always an amazing experience to surround yourself with such talented professionals and celebrities.

What was April’s experience?

April spent all day Saturday and Sunday wrapped up in BET Awards Show events! Did you see the VH1 Hit The Floor dancers hit the court for the Sprite Celebrity Basketball Game halftime show? 3 of the dancers gorgeous makeup was April’s creation and masterpiece! Who else did April cross paths with? Tinashe, 21 year old R&B singer grabbed a Lavish Lashes bag on her way to take the stage for her performance, celebrity blogger Karen Civil sweeped up a Lavish Lashes gift bag and t-shirt – we can’t wait to see her rock it on Instagram – and she even snapped a few photos with April, and finally April was interviewed as a featured celebrity artist! We couldn’t be more proud!

Final Touches!

From upcoming artists to fashion bloggers the fight was on for who looked best! While everyone was beautiful in their own way and style, one thing April noticed was their lashes, of course! Final glue touchups and uneven lashes need to be part of the past! After explaining the benefits of Lavish Lashes to these girls there is no doubt that they will be calling her before their next event to avoid any last minute malfunctions that could land them on the wrong page of the tabloids!

The BET Awards wasn’t all in beauty products and finishing touches, April was able to attend the Sprite Celebrity Basketball game where she saw and shook hands with some of the best in the industry including, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Christian Keyes, and French Montana!
